Happy one month blogday to me! I can’t believe it’s only been a month since I took a deep breath and hit publish for the first time. To celebrate making it through to the end without quitting, I thought I’d share a few thoughts that have occurred to me over the last four weeks.
1. Small fish, VERY big pond
Errrrr, ok, there are a LOT of bloggers. I mean a lot. Sure, I knew it was popular and all that but seriously, how am I ever going to stand out?! (I’m still working that out, will report back.)
2. Twitter is my friend
Twitter is where it all goes down, fact. I let my twitter game slack in recent months, but no more my friends. I’ve even gatecrashed a few blogger chats and learnt an array of new hashtags! #Checkmeout.
3. Be more organised
Something happens when you start blogging and your mind goes crazy with ideas, things to write and photos to take. I was frantically keeping all my notes in a very untidy fashion on my phone up until I ordered The Blogger Journal. Now I have somewhere else to brain-dump!
4. Improve (i.e. get) photography skillz
Yeah, so I’m rubbish at photography. Must.get.better. I guess the more pictures I take, the better I will become? Perhaps. Or maybe I’ll just wake up one day and I’ll have become a professional photographer overnight???
5. Have a little patience
In other words, why aren’t I Tanya Burr yet?! Obviously I didn’t expect for the world to go crazy for my blog, but a bit of hype wouldn’t go amiss. Hrrumph.
6. It’s really fun!
Even though I’m no good at photos, have no patience and am not world famous yet, I’m actually really enjoying it. If that sounds like I’m surprised, it’s because I am! I didn’t know what to expect before I started but it’s like a little light has switched on in my brain and all my creative juices are working overtime.
Now to get through another month…
What have you learnt from blogging? Tips are welcome.
