I had been looking forward to this spa day for a long time. It’s not hard to see why…
It was recently my best friend’s birthday and I really wanted to get her a special present. We usually have a day in London, go out for dinner or have afternoon tea, but this year I wanted to do something different. I thought a spa day would be perfect – we would be able to spend the whole day together to have a good old chat, while also doing some serious relaxing. What. A. Treat.
After a lot of googling, I came across Spa 6 at Cotswold Water Park Hotel and knew it was the one. Situated in the gorgeous setting of The Cotswolds, it had a long list of treatments, luxurious facilities and was certainly somewhere we would be pampered.
We decided to go on a Monday, which was possibly the best idea ever. Firstly, it was quiet. We didn’t have any problems booking treatments or fighting it out around the pool for loungers. Secondly, why wouldn’t you want to spend your Monday at a spa, swanning around in a robe instead of sitting working at a desk?!
When we arrived we were given our uniform for the day – a dressing gown and slippers – great start. We were given a mini tour and shown the changing rooms, pool, treatment spa and where to go for our lunch and complimentary drinks during our day. The pool is a hydro pool, which is almost like having a built in jacuzzi in certain parts of it. There’s also a sauna, steam room, experience showers and a cold bucket shower. One of my favourite things was the heated poolside loungers, genius idea.
We had already booked our treatments in advance; I had a Geleration Express Pedicure while my friend had an Aroma Back Massage. We had these treatments first, spent some time in the relaxation room, then had an hour by the pool before enjoying our afternoon tea.
In the afternoon, we had the Rasual Ritual joint treatment. You and your friend go into a room where you’re given a huge lump of mud to cover yourself in (this part is very funny). Once covered, you both sit in the steam room for 15 minutes to let the mud absorb into your skin, then shower it off to have the SOFTEST SKIN EVER. We both really loved this treatment, it’s so much fun and it’s nice that you can do it as a pair.
We finished our day with some more poolside relaxing and had a walk around outside admiring the lakes and general loveliness of The Cotswolds. Neither of us wanted to leave – I can safely say we will be back soon.
